JAKE SREBNICK

35mm film

Growing up in New York City, you are constantly surrounded by tons of people. It is incredibly easy to forget that the strangers you pass on the street are individuals - each with their own unique backstories and complicated life events. Passing someone on the street and making a connection with them, whether it be making eye contact or starting a conversation, is a small miracle. In this collection of photographs, I hope to expose a more personal relationship between humans and their environments. Each photograph captures relatively commonplace moments that, I feel, are often overlooked and deserve a closer inspection for their beauty and authenticity.
